I first started boxing at 11 years old, at st kits boxing club that was based on stepping lane derby. I started boxing for general fitness with my younger brother Leigh, my dad advised on this sport as my grandad boxed in his younger days, but he couldn’t progress as he went into the army. Upon joining the army my grandad became a Sargent major.
After boxing for fitness at st kits for a couple of months I gave it up as it was a bit to far out from where I lived. After a year I joined a local boxing club Chadd ABC, my coaches were Keith Rowland, Shaun Neal SNR, Andy softley and Stuart dolman. This is where I found my love for the sport and became an amateur boxer.
In my amateur boxing career, I boxed in numerous championships and club bouts.
I became east midland champion, and my record was 50/50 but I was always the underdog due to my size.
I moved on from chadd ABC to gain more experience and I moved to One Nation boxing club as a senior amateur boxer. Here my love for the sport continued. I had a few club bouts here ending my amateur career again as a 50/50 fighter.

I first started boxing when I was 14, though I’d wanted to box for as long as I could remember, inspired by stories about my dad, uncles, and great grandad, who were all involved in boxing. My dad was initially hesitant about me starting, especially since I had a brace fitted at 12. Once it was removed, I was finally allowed to train.
My dad, a tattooist, worked at a shop where Luke often visited. One thing led to another, and Luke began training me at his house. It quickly became a family affair, with my dad and Luke’s dad, Keith, standing in the kitchen smoking and joking around while Luke taught me the basics and helped improve my fitness.
Eventually, Luke told my dad I was ready to join a club. That’s when I started training at Chadd ABC under Keith Rowland, Stuart Doleman, Spencer Alton, and John Wadsworth. I had five fights for Chadd ABC, winning only my first bout. I was often matched against heavier opponents, competing at 55kg while only weighing 51kg.

Hi, I'm Danny. I'm 34 years old, I have been doing boxing since I was about 5, I learnt my skills from a local club in Chaddesden whilst there I had 30 amateur fights!
I was an ABA national champion, I boxed abroad twice, and I boxed for Midlands and Derbyshire teams. I do coaching now because of the love for the support and to pass down my knowledge to the new up-and-coming boxers!
I've been doing coaching for about 2 years I'm at the gym 3/4 evenings a week.

I started kickboxing at the age of 7 and earned my Black Belt 1st Dan at a young age. At 14, I transitioned to boxing for a change and to lose more weight—and I’ve never looked back! In my amateur career, I achieved two National Gold ABA titles and one National Silver ABA title in the 56-58kg weight category. I also attended numerous England boxing squad sessions in Sheffield and was honoured to receive the award for Best Under 10 Bouter in Derbyshire during my second year of competition.
After competing, I had the privilege of working alongside female professional boxers as a sparring partner in their training camps while continuing to stay active in boxing gyms.
I’ve also trained hundreds of women across the country through boxercise and boxfit classes as an Elite Hatton Academy Instructor under Autumn Goodwin Boxing.
Building on these experiences, I’m now an England Boxing Level 1 Coach and a BBBofC coach and seconds licence holder. I’m proud to work with the next generation of talent at Darley ABC, as well as support up-and-coming professionals in the sport.
